"Helping you find answers"

Richard Lawton offers Postural Integration, Pulsing holistic bodywork and psychotherapeutic bodywork in Southwest London & North Surrey.

Life can get difficult. Tiredness, stress, anxiety, pain and poor health can become the norm. Past hurts can undermine us, or the present can be so confusing and difficult that we don't know where to turn. Relationships may be sources of conflict rather than fulfillment. Sex may be frustrating rather than ecstatic. The demands of work and home can often make us feel squeezed from all sides. Joy disappears from life.

It doesn't have to be that way.

When we are struggling with life's problems it helps if we are not alone. Most people share their problems with friends and family, confiding in people they trust, talking things over and finding a solution.

But sometimes problems can be so personal or painful that we feel we can't share them with those around us - or perhaps those around us are part of the problem. This is when counselling can help.

Counselling is a way of addressing problems by talking them through with someone who is supportive but is not directly involved in the situation. You can talk and express your feelings about whatever is troubling you with someone who will not criticise, dismiss or belittle you. Sometimes simply having this support - a place to let off steam – is enough to help you through a difficult time. If you have a problem you would like to resolve, the counsellor will help you explore and understand your difficulties and find ways of managing these more effectively. This may involve guidance and advice, but the emphasis will be on helping you find the solution that feels right for you.

Ideally counselling takes place in a face-to-face session. However, some people are in circumstances that do not allow them to travel to counselling sessions or who for various reasons prefer not to meet face-to-face.

If you need help, I offer online counselling via email or instant messenger.
