Online Counselling

I offer online counselling for those whose circumstances do not allow them to travel to counselling sessions or who simply prefer not to meet face-to-face. This can be done either by Instant Messenger (IM) or by email.


IM Sessions

For Live Chat sessions by Instant Messenger, I use Skype Chat. You will need to download the software from Skype and set up an account (free of charge). Skype messages are securely encrypted, which means that our conversation is completely confidential.

To arrange a session, telephone 0845 094 4505 or email mail@richardlawton.net to arrange a time when we are both free. Then pay for your session using Google Checkout (see link below).

A one hour IM session costs £25. There are discounts for booking blocks of sessions: 6 sessions cost £125 (saving £25) and 10 sessions cost £200 (saving £50).

Email Exchanges

For counselling by email you will need to pay for your session using Google Checkout (see link below). You then send me an email which should contain some background information (including your age and sex and any circumstances that may be of note) and the issue that is concerning you right now. I will reflect on what you have written and reply, normally within 24 hours. I may ask you questions to help clarify what you have said.

The cost of this service is £20. The includes reading your initial email, asking any questions I may have and reading your responses, and finally writing a substantial response.

If you are particularly concerned about email security, you may use encrypted email to write to me. You will need to use an email browser that supports this (such as Thunderbird with Enigmail). My Public Key is A69C80D0.
